• Yellow-Stripe Step Sparring Requirements

    THREE STEP SPARRING: (YELLOW STRIPES)

     

    Partners face each other in parallel ready stance.

    Attacker moves right foot back to walking stance with left low block, yells when ready to attack.

    Defender stays in parallel ready stance, yells when ready to defend, and Attacker attacks.

    Yellow Techniques are optional.

    1. ATTACKER: Three knife hand inward strikes to neck with walking stance.

    DEFENDER: Left knife hand guarding block with sparring stance, then right,

    then right lateral shift with both feet out 45 ° toward the right, then immediately right back kick to belt.

    2. ATTACKER: Three knife hand outward strikes to neck with sparring stance.

    DEFENDER: Left foot back to sparring stance with right knife hand guarding block to outside of forearm, then left knife hand guarding block with sparring stance, then right knife hand guarding block as step left foot slightly out to left, right side kick to flank.

    3. ATTACKER: Three palm heel strikes to nose with walking stance.

    DEFENDER: Left foot back to sitting stance with right forearm inward block, then left, then right, then slide in with right elbow thrust to chest (fist supported by left palm), then slide right foot halfway back toward left foot to natural stance and right back fist strike to eye.

    4. ATTACKER: Three fingertip thrusts to eye with walking stance.

    DEFENDER: Left high block with sparring stance, then right, then move right

    foot close behind left foot, then left forearm high block with left foot moving forward to walking stance and right reverse (upset) punch to chest (fist vertical at moment of contact).

    5. ATTACKER: Three ridge hand strikes to neck with walking stance.

    DEFENDER: Left knife hand guarding block with sparring stance, then right,

    then move right foot halfway back and then diagonally forward to in front of Attacker's left foot in sitting stance with left knife hand block to forearm and right knife hand inward strike to neck, then grip Attacker's right forearm (or sleeve) with left hand and pull to left with right elbow smash to cheek.
