    STEP SPARRING: (BLUE STRIPES)

If possible, both partners should wear full sparring equipment, including chest Protectors, forearm guards, shin guards, and headgear.

Both partners begin in left sparring stance. Perform as two parts.

    Yellow Techniques are optional.

    1. Attacker: Step right foot behind and past left foot, left hooking kick over shoulder and immediately left instep kick to head (perform as double kick head high).

Defender: Backward lateral shift in sparring stance (move right foot backwards more than left foot to end in left sparring stance facing diagonally 45 ° toward

Attacker) with both hands up to block both kicks, then right back kick to belt.

    2. Attacker: Switch stance, immediately step left foot behind and far past right foot and right hooking kick to head (over head for test demonstration).

Defender: Left forward step to diagonal stance behind Attacker with right punch to flank, right turning instep kick to head over Attacker's right shoulder.

    3. Attacker: Right roundhouse punch to head with right walking stance.

Defender: Right switch hop turning kick (Bi-Chaghi) to belt as pivot out to right 45° back on left foot and hips rotate left, leaning upper torso away from the punch.

    4. Attacker: Right roundhouse punch to head with right walking stance.

Defender: Right switch hop turning kick (Bi-Chaghi) to belt as pivot out to right 45° back on left foot and hips rotate left, leaning upper torso away from the punch.

    5. Attacker: Switch stance, immediately left reverse leg sweep in crouch to knees (spin 360° around touching both hands to floor).  Note: this technique is dangerous if the ankle is struck, so do only once - Part Two.

Defender: Jump up over the sweeping leg with right jump turning kick to head. (Do not allow ankle to be struck by Attacker's sweep).
