• MOON-MOO HYUNG

    Moon-Moo form honours Moon-Moo (Munmu), the 30th King of the Silla dynasty. According to his will, the body was placed in the sea "Where my soul shall forever defend my land against the Japanese." The 61 movements represent the last two figures of 661 C.E when Moon-Moo came to the throne.

    Begin in parallel ready stance at x facing D.

  • 1. Turn the face toward Bas raise left knee to left bending stance with forearm guarding block to Bin slow motion;
    2. Left high side kick to B in slow motion as extend left fist toward kick, continue ...
    3. Momentarily bend the left knee, then immediately left high side kick to B (fast) again extending the left fist toward the kick (perform as double kick);
    4. Lower the left foot toward B to sitting stance to D with right fingertip thrust to D (throat high) and left ready fist;
    5. Right high reverse hooking kick to Bin slow motion, turning clockwise on left foot;
    6. Lower the right foot toward B in a jumping motion to a right X stance (left foot behind right) with right knife-hand side strike to B;
    7. Turn the face toward A and move the left foot to left walking stance to A with right palm downward pressing block (left palm up counterbalance);
    8. Move the right foot forward to right walking stance to A with left palm downward pressing block (right palm up counterbalance);

  • 9. Pivot left on the right foot as pull the left knife foot to the inside of the right knee forming a right one-legged stance facing D with left high knife-hand side block toward B and right low knife-hand side block toward A (all in slow motion);
    10. Lower the left foot to the right foot, turn the face toward A as raise the right knife foot to right bending stance with right forearm guarding block to A in slow motion;
    11. Right high side kick to A in slow motion as extend the right fist toward the kick, continue ...
    12. Momentarily bend the right knee, then immediately right high side kick to A (fast) again extending the right fist toward the kick (perform as double kick);
    13. Lower the right foot toward A to sitting stance to D with left fingertip thrust to D (throat high} and right ready fist;
    14. Left high reverse hooking kick to A in slow motion, turning counter-clockwise (backwards) on the right foot:
    15. Lower the left foot toward A in a jumping motion to a left X stance (right foot behind left) with left knife-hand side strike to A;
    16. Turn the face toward Band move the right foot to right walking stance to B with left palm downward pressing block (right palm up counterbalance);
    17. Move left foot forward to left walking stance to B with right palm downward pressing block (left palm up counterbalance);
    18. Pivot right on the left foot as pull the right knife foot to the inside of the left knee forming a left one-legged stance facing D with right high knife-hand side block

    19. Turn the face around right toward C as cross forearms keeping the right knee bent, then form a backward bending stance (front to D) with twin low outward forearm side blocks (chest to front);
    20. Right back kick toward C in slow motion;
    21. Lower right foot toward C to left walking stance to D with right middle punch to D;
    22. Turn the face around left toward C as cross forearms while lifting the left leg to form a backward bending stance (front to D) with twin low outward forearm side blocks (chest to front);
    23. Left back kick toward C in slow motion;
    24. Lower the left foot toward C to right walking stance with left middle punch to D;
    25. Withdraw the right foot and slide back toward C to a left cat stance with left palm downward block (waist high) to D and right ready fist;
    26. Left front snap kick to D, keeping the position of the hands as in 25;
    27. Lower the left foot naturally toward D and then move the right foot to C in a stamping motion to sitting stance to A with right hammer-fist outward sideways

    28. Slide to C on both feet maintaining the sitting stance with left palm upward scooping block to A; immediately ...
    29. Right middle punch in the sitting stance to A;
    30. Turn the face left toward D with left low knife-hand side block to D and right ready fist to A (raise and then lower the entire body slightly in the sitting stance);
    31. Turn the face toward C as move the left foot quickly to just beyond the rear of the right foot and execute a right high side pushing kick to C (hesitate the side kick momentarily, then extend) with right forearm guarding block to C;
    32. Lower the right foot naturally toward C, then pivot left on the right foot (backwards counter-clockwise) with high left reverse hooking kick to C;
    33. Lower the left foot to left walking stance to C with high left knife-hand side block and right ready fist;
    34. Withdraw the left foot and slide back toward D to right cat stance with right palm downward block (waist high) to C and left ready fist;
    35. Right front snap kick to C, keeping the position of the hands as in 34;
    36. Lower the right foot naturally to C, then pivot left on the right foot and move the left foot toward D in a stamping motion to sitting stance to A with left horizontal outward hammer-fist side strike to D and right ready fist;
    37. Slide both feet sideways toward D, maintaining the sitting stance to A with right palm upward scooping block to A, immediately ...
    38. Left middle punch to A in the sitting stance;
    39. Turn the face to the right with right knife-hand low side block to C and left ready fist (raise and then lower the entire body slightly in the sitting stance);
    40. Turn the face left toward D, move the right foot quickly to just beyond the rear of the left foot and execute a left high side pushing kick to D (hesitate the side kick momentarily, then extend) with left forearm guarding block;
    41. Lower the left foot naturally toward D, then pivot right on the left foot (backwards clockwise) and execute a high right reverse hooking kick to D:
    42. Lower the right foot to right walking stance to D with high right knife-hand side block and left ready fist;
    43. Move the left foot forward toward D and right high twist kick to AD (as high as possible over the right shoulder); 
    44. Lower the right foot back toward C as cross forearms to left walking stance to D with right high back-fist backward strike toward C with left horizontal fist extended forward toward D;
    45. Shift straight back toward C on both feet maintaining the left walking stance to D with right back-fist strike to D bringing the left back-fist under the right elbow;
    46. Move the right foot forward toward D and left high twist kick over shoulder to BO;
    47. Lower the left foot back toward C as cross forearms to right walking stance to D with left high back-fist backward strike toward C with right horizontal fist extended forward toward D;
    48. Shift straight back toward C on both feet maintaining the right walking stance to D with left back-fist strike to D bringing the right back-fist under the left elbow;
    49. Left inward sweeping kick with the sole of the foot to D, then lower the left foot forward to left sparring stance to D with left forearm guarding block;
    50. Left low side checking kick to D, continue immediately left high thrusting kick to D (with ball of foot), perform as consecutive kicks;
    51. Lower the left foot to left sparring stance to D with left knife-hand side strike and right ready fist:
    52. Right inward sweeping kick to D, lower the right foot forward to right sparring stance to D with right forearm guarding block;
    53. Right low side checking kick to D, continue immediately right high thrusting kick to D, perform as consecutive kicks;
    54. Lower the right foot to right sparring stance to D with right knife-hand side strike:
    55. Withdraw the right foot back toward C to just beyond the side rear of the left foot, then pivot left on the right foot as move the left foot backwards around to left walking stance to C with right middle punch;
    56. Jump to C to right X stance (left foot behind right) toward AC with left low punch as bring the right fist to in front of the left shoulder;
    57. Jump to D to left X stance (right foot behind left) toward AD with right low punch as bring left fist to in front of right shoulder;
    58. Jump up spin right back kick to D;
    59. Land to right sparring stance to D with right knife-hand guarding block;
    60. Withdraw the right foot back toward C to just beyond the side rear of the left foot and then move the left foot straight back toward C to right walking stance to D with left high arc-hand rising block to D and right ready fist;
    61. Right high punch to D (flexing the rear knee slightly to help drive the punch) in the right walking stance (Ki-hap!).
