• WEAPONS DEFENCE ("JO- TORI") - 3rd DAN BLACK BELTS

    Attacks with stick ('Boken' or 'Jo') held with two hands, or club held with one hand.

    1. "TSUKI SOKUMEN IRIMl-NAGE "  (with Jo on inside)

    UKE:  Left foot forward thrust with left hand upper grip.

      DEF: Right inward strike to neck as right foot forward, grip weapon between hands with right hand, in front of Uke's forward hand with left hand, lift right shoulder as push down with left hand, staying close to Uke's chest, raise right arm to thrust weapon backwards toward Uke's chin, extend right arm over head as pivot hips to right with right reverse elbow through side of neck as step right foot behind Uke's left side as large right arm circular extension through to end facing falling Uke in right walking stance, taking stick away with left hand. (Choke if resists).

    1. "TSUKI HINAERI NIKYO - OMOTE"  (with Jo)

    UKE:   Left foot forward thrust with left hand upper grip.

    DEF:   Left foot forward and grip weapon with left hand in front of Uke's left hand, near point of weapon from above with right hand, right foot half tenkan as bring right hand close to own body, extend weapon across Uke's front and rotate weapon around Uke's wrists in counter-clockwise circular motion in front of Uke's chest as right foot steps forward to behind turned Uke's left side, pivot left on both feet and press weapon across Uke's front onto side of Uke's left wrist to release (effect is similar to 1st Dan Black Belt Stick Taking No. 1, but in opposite direction), then use butt end of stick onto back of Uke's left leg to sweep, dropping Uke backwards to floor.

    1. "TSUKI SHOMATSU DOZA" (with Jo)

    UKE:    Left foot forward thrust with left hand upper grip.

    DEF:   Left foot forward and grip weapon with left hand in front of left hand, near point of weapon from above with right hand, press right hand out to right as extend weapon left forward with left hand, rotate point of weapon with right hand to twist Uke's hands out, up and over head in large arc to bring Uke's hands down behind his head as right foot steps diagonally forward to Uke's left side.

    1. "YOKOMEN-UCHI KOKYU NAGE"  (with Jo on inside)

    UKE:    Right to left 45° inward swing with right walking stance.

    DEF:  Right foot in, grip weapon with right hand (palm up) between Uke's hands, left hand in front of Uke's forward hand, left foot tenkan as continue momentum of strike to throw Uke with butt end of weapon, right hand up, levering (under elbow) with left hand downward rotation (like paddling) to throw Uke forward.

    1. "SOKUMEN-UCHI KOKYU NAGE"  (with Jo)

    UKE:    Left foot forward left to right 45° inward swing with left upper hand grip.

    DEF:   Left foot forward grip stick with left hand (palm up) between hands, right hand grip in front of Uke's forward hand, pivot right tenkan, extend weapon upward to continue circular momentum to throw (like paddling) to throw forward.

    1. "YOKOMEN-UCHI KOSHI NAGE"  (with Jo on inside)

    UKE:  Right foot forward right to left 45° inward swing.

     DEF      Enter to Uke's right side and grip weapon between hands with right hand (palm down), in front of left hand with left hand, pivot left with tenkan and push hip into Uke to unbalance as extend arms and extend Uke to left around own body with butt end of weapon toward floor.  (Can also push hip into Uke's body as fulcrum).

    1. "TSUKI KOSHI NAGE"  (with Jo on outside)

    UKE:   Left foot forward thrust with left upper hand grip.

      DEF: Right foot forward, grip weapon with left hand from above in front of Uke's left hand, in between from below with right hand, pivot left with tenkan and push hip into Uke to unbalance as extend arms and extend Uke to left around own body in high arc with butt end of weapon toward floor, maintaining Uke's momentum.

    Weapons Taking techniques to attack with club:

    1. "YOKOMEN-UCHI  KOKYU NAGE"  (one hand strike with club on inside)

    UKE: Weapon held in right hand only, right to left inward swing with right walking stance.

    DEF:  Right foot in with left swordarm to forearm and right toward side of neck, grip Uke's right hand from above with left hand as left foot half tenkan and right knife hand extension onto inside of Uke's elbow to throw Uke to his front unbalance point, take weapon with left hand. If weapon still held by Uke on the floor, grip with right hand by stepping around the arm of prone Uke and twisting it clockwise.

    1. "SOKUMEN-UCHI IKKYO" (one hand strike with club on outside)

    UKE: Weapon in right hand, left to right 45° outward swing with right walking stance.

    DEF: Left foot in with twin sword arm circular swing (right at wrist, left at elbow) right foot tenkan as grip Uke's wrist and left hand extension onto elbow to extend in circular descending clockwise spiral to floor.  End in full lkkyo pin and take weapon away.

    1. "SHOMEN-UCHI GOKYO” (one hand strike with club on inside) UKE:  Overhand strike (slightly right to left) with right walking stance.

    DEF: Left sword arm extension block through inside of Uke's forearm, right hand grip inside of Uke's wrist, right foot tenkan as 'rotate' left arm over Uke's arm, pivot right in circular take down toward retreating right foot to arm bar on floor, grip uniform over elbow with left hand and raise Uke's elbow as push right hand inward toward Uke's armpit, take weapon with right hand.

    1. 'SHOMEN-UCHI' HIJI ATEMI TENCHI NAGE ELBOW SMASH' (on inside or outside):

    UKE:  Club in right hand, downward strike with right walking stance.

    DEF:   Left knife hand block to inside of forearm and grip sleeve, right foot forward with elbow smash to side of jaw, right knee smash to groin, then left elbow smash to head, throw Uke to floor (forwards or backwards). If initial block is on outside with left hand, extend right, right elbow smash over extended right arm, right knee to chest, left elbow smash to back of head, pull Uke's shoulders backwards to floor.
